The former governor of North Dakota and congressman pens his name on this 3½x2 card
Signature: "Fred G. Aandahl", in blue ink, 3½x2 card. Fred George Aandahl (1897-1966) was a U.S. congressman from North Dakota. A graduate of the University of North Dakota, Aandahl was a farmer before he became superintendent of schools for Litchville, North Dakota (1922-1927). First a member of the North Dakota State Senate in 1931, 1939, and 1941, Aandahl went on to become the 23rd governor of North Dakota from 1945 until 1951. In 1950, Aandahl was elected as a Republican to the 82nd Congress and then was an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate. From 1953 to 1961, Aandahl served as assistant secretary of the Department of the Interior under Eisenhower. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
