No Place, 1980 March 5.In full: "Dear Mr. Memminger: I am sorry I am completely out of 8X10s We have them on order but they are not here yet. Thank you for your kind letter. I enjoy getting them. I am now in my 79th year and have just had open heart surgery. I am feeling fine and aiming to be 100." On verso "This is supposed to be a cartoon of Charlie King, one of the 'heavies' who used to play with us in the old Westerns." Pencil drawing below. Former vaudeville entertainer and opera singer Fred Scott (1902-1992), who had appeared in some Mack Sennett comedies of the silent film era, gained popularity as "the Silvery-Voiced Buckaroo" in low-budget Western movies of the 1930s. Slightly jagged at left margin. Fold creases affecting signature on front. Fine condition.
