No Place, 1980 May 24.In full: "Dear Bob Hemminger: I feel very flattered that you use my photos for such a good cause. Thank you. I am sorry the drawing isn't better. I used to be able to a little but about ten years ago I suffered a small stroke on my left side. Since then I have had difficulty drawing a steady curved line. My signatures are all made by holding the pen with both hands. I feel I am very fortunate to still be able to do this. Right now I am recovering from a wonderful heart by pass operation and am feeling great! Keep up the good work with the kids! Sincerely, your friend, P. S. The drawing was achieved by tracing the enclosed photo." Ink drawing at left lower margin. Former vaudeville entertainer and opera singer Fred Scott (1902-1992), who had appeared in some Mack Sennett comedies of the silent film era, gained popularity as "the Silvery-Voiced Buckaroo" in low-budget Western movies of the 1930s. Slightly jagged at left and right margin. Fine condition.
