FRED LYNN CO-SIGNED BY: DWIGHT "DEWEY" EVANS, JIM RICE
Baseball signed by Lynn in the sweet-spot, Evans as "Dwight Evans" and Rice. All three were part of the Red Sox's 1975 roster and helped to bring the team within 1 game of breaking the Curse. The Cincinnati Reds came back to win the World Series against the Red Sox that year in Game 7, prolonging Boston fans' agony for another 29 years.
Baseball signed: "Fred Lynn" in the sweet-spot, "Jim Rice" and "Dwight Evans", all in blue ink. 2½-inch diameter. Rawlings Official Major League Baseball with Allan H. Selig facsimile signature and Major League Baseball hologram authentication label. None of these three is in the Hall of Fame, but most Red Sox fans will tell you that Rice and Evans should be, and that Lynn might be there had he not departed Fenway, a park perfectly suited to his swing. With this fearsome trio at the heart of the lineup, the Red Sox came heartbreakingly close to their first championship since 1918 in the 1975 World Series; the powerhouse Cincinnati Reds had to come from behind in Game 7 of the Series to prolong Boston's wait for a title. DWIGHT "DEWEY" EVANS, beloved by Red Sox fans, played all but his final Major League season (1972-1991) in Boston. Always an outstanding fielder with the most deadly throwing arm in baseball, Evans blossomed into a fine slugger in the 1980s, leading the league in home runs in the strike-shortened 1981 season. A 3-time All-Star and 8-time Gold Glove, Evans starred for the Red Sox defensively in the 1975 World Series and offensively in the 1986 Series. JIM RICE emerged as one of the American League's most feared slugger in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He used his quick, compact stroke and immensely strong wrists to send home runs crashing into upper decks or soaring completely over the screen above Fenway Park's Green Monster. Rice's career stats, all with the Boston Red Sox (1974-1989), are 2089 games played, .298 average, 382 home runs and 1451 RBIs. He led the league in home runs in 1977-1978 and 1983, in RBIs in 1978 and 1983, was an All-Star in 1977-1980 and 1983-1986, and was voted Most Valuable Player in 1978. FRED LYNN played for the Boston Red Sox (1974-1980), California Angels (1981-1984), Baltimore Orioles (1985-1988), Detroit Tigers (1988-1989) and San Diego Padres (1990). He had ten 20-HR seasons, one batting title, All-Star appearances in each of his first nine seasons and one of the best rookie seasons in baseball history. In 1975, Lynn led a young Red Sox club to within one win of the World Championship. On June 18, 1975, he bombed the Tigers with 3 HR, 10 RBI, and 16 total bases in one game, and by season's end Lynn had hit .331, led the AL in runs and doubles, and became the only player ever to be named Rookie of the Year and MVP in the same season. In 1979, he was even better, leading the AL in batting (.333) with 39 HR and 122 RBI. Fine condition.
