Fred MacMurray signs an index card in teal ink.
Signature: "Fred MacMurray", 5x3 index card. Magazine photograph, b/w, 1x1½, at lower right margin. Typed caption: "His performance in 'Double Indemnity' opposite Barbara Stanwyck in 1944 was a classic." Typed biography at upper margin. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso: "Fred MacMurray/ March 8, 1953/Henry Hudson/Hotel". In the year he signed this autograph, MacMurray appeared in two films, The Moonlighter and Fair Wind to Java, and made his first TV appearance on What's My Line? Actor Fred MacMurray (1908-1991) was equally adept in comedies, dramas and musicals. Among his memorable films were True Confession (1937), Double Indemnity (1944) and The Caine Mutiny (1954). His Disney films included The Shaggy Dog (1959), The Absent-Minded Professor (1961) and Son of Flubber (1963). MacMurray was best known to TV audiences as widower Steven Douglas, raising My Three Sons from 1960-1972. Rectangular shading at upper right margin at the "Murray". Lightly worn at edges. Slightly soiled on verso, which has triangular show through from photograph at 1 word of ink note. Overall, fine condition.
