Fred MacMurray signs a piece of paper in pencil.
Signature: "Fred MacMurray" in pencil, 5¼x3¾, affixed to 5¼x4½ sheet (two surfaces). Pencil note (unknown hand) at upper margin of signature sheet: "Written Monday, 4:30 P.M. b[y]/the actor hisself (sic). May 23, 1938". In the year he signed this autograph, MacMurray appeared in three films: Sing You Sinners; Cocoanut Grove; and, Men With Wings. Actor Fred MacMurray (1908-1991) was equally adept in comedies, dramas and musicals. Among his memorable films were True Confession (1937), Double Indemnity (1944) and The Caine Mutiny (1954). His Disney films included The Shaggy Dog (1959), The Absent-Minded Professor (1961) and Son of Flubber (1963). MacMurray was best known to TV audiences as widower Steven Douglas, raising My Three Sons from 1960-1972. Name written in pencil (unknown hand) at lower margin of mounting sheet. Signature sheet is lightly creased, vertical crease at the "M" of Murray. Slightly soiled. Irregularly torn at upper and lower edges. Mounting sheet is irregularly torn at blank left edge. Glue stains at upper and lower margins and on verso (no show through). Overall, fine condition.
