FRED HAISE and TONY ENGLAND
Photo of both signers, and several other astronauts, viewing the lunar rover
Photograph signed: "Fred Haise/Apollo 13 LMP", "Tony England". B/w, 10x8. FRED WALLACE HAISE, JR. (born in 1933) was one of the 19 astronauts selected by NASA in 1966. Haise, who was a lunar module back up crew member for Apollo 8 and Apollo 11 and spacecraft commander backup for Apollo 16, was the Lunar Module Pilot on the aborted, heroic Apollo 13 mission in 1970. In 1977, he commanded the space shuttle Enterprise five times as part of the Approach and Landing Test Program at Edwards Air Force Base. After retiring from NASA in June 1979, Haise joined Northrop Grumman Technical Services (GTS), serving as Vice President (from 1979), President of GTS (from 1983) and President of the Space Station Program Support Division (from 1987). Fine condition. ANTHONY W. "TONY" ENGLAND (b. 1942) joined NASA as a scientist astronaut in 1967. A support crewman on Apollo missions 13 and 16, he was EVA Cap Com on Apollo 16, communicating with the astronauts during walks on the lunar surface. He left NASA temporarily in 1972 for the US Geological Survey, but logged 188 hours in space aboard the space shuttle Challenger in 1985, the Spacelab-2 mission. Later he was Program Scientist for the International Space Station. The Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV), commonly called the "moon buggy," was driven on the lunar surface during the missions of Apollo 16, 17 and 18 (1971-1972). Fine condition.
