Rollout". In 1977, FRED WALLACE HAISE, JR. (born in 1933) commanded
the space shuttle Enterprise five times as part of the Approach and
Landing Test Program at Edwards Air Force Base. One of the 19 astronauts
selected by NASA in 1966, Haise, who was a Lunar Module back up crew member
for Apollo 8 and Apollo 11 and spacecraft Commander backup for
Apollo 16, was the Lunar Module Pilot on the aborted Apollo 13
mission in 1970. After retiring from NASA in June 1979, Haise joined
Northrop Grumman Technical Services (GTS), serving as Vice President (from
1979), President of GTS (from 1983) and President of the Space Station Program
Support Division (from 1987). CHARLES GORDON FULLERTON (born in 1936) is
a research pilot at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Facility at Edwards AFB,
California, piloting B-52 launch aircraft, Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier
Aircraft and other multi-engine and high performance aircraft. A NASA
astronaut from September 1969-November 1986, Fullerton logged 380 hours in
space. He piloted the STS-3 space shuttle Columbia on its eight-day
test mission (March 22-30, 1982) and was Commander of the STS-51F
Spacelab 2 mission (launched from Kennedy Space Center on July 29,
1985 and landing at Dryden on August 6, 1985) in addition to serving on the
support crew of Apollo 14, 15, 16 and 17. In
1977, Fullerton piloted the Space Shuttle Enterprise prototype for the
Approach and Landing Test Program at Dryden. Defects from original negative
have reproduced at background. Two pinhead sized spots, one touching "E" of
"Enterprise". Fine condition.
