Printed card signed in ink: "Freddy Cannon/1999" in blue ink. 5x3 card. Freddy Cannon (b. 1940) is an American rock and roll singer, best known for his international hits "Tallahasse Lassie", "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans", and "Palisades Park". Inspired musically by Chuck Berry and Little Richards, he formed his own group Freddy Karmon & the Hurricanes, which became very popular in his native Boston area, and which developed a trademark singing style. He signed with Dick Clark's Swan Records, changing his name to Freddy Cannon, and eventually earning the name "Boom Boom" for the thumping power of his recordings. He appeared numerous times on Dick Clark's American Bandstand (110 appearances in total), and would release ten albums including The Explosive Freddy Cannon (1960), Palisades Park (1962), and Action (1965).
