Document signed: "Fredric March" in blue ink and by representative of Lumadrama, Inc. in black ink.Red pencil mark in unknown hand. 1 page, 8¼x10¾. April 4, 1962. Addressedto Mr. Fredric March, New York City. According to this document, Lumadrama wanted to pay March a $1,000 signing bonus as an added inducement to be the narrator at the Sound and Light Show at Philadelphia's Independence. March appeared in the Italian-French movie I sequestrati di Altona, released in the United States as The Condemned of Altona, in 1962. He also made his final Broadway appearance in Gideon. March signed this document to agree to this inducement. Hall Stage, screen and occasional television actor Frederic March (1897-1975), born Frederick Ernest McIntyre Bickel in Racine, Wisconsin, won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931-1932) and The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), and he was also nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for The Royal Family of Broadway (1930-1931), A Star is Born (1937) and Death of a Salesman (1951). March, whose other films include The Barretts of Wimpole Street (1934), Les Misérables (1935), Inherit the Wind (1960) and Seven Days in May (1964), also won Best Actor Tony Awards for Years Ago (1947) and Long Day's Journey Into Night (1957). Lightly toned, soiled and creased. Staple holes in top left corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
