MARTHA HYER (1924-2014) made her first film, Thunder Mountain, in 1947. She earned an Oscar nomination as a teacher smitten with Frank Sinatra in Some Came Running (1958). Other prominent roles included Battle Hymn (1956) and The Carpetbaggers (1964). She made many TV appearances, including multiple episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. She was also a screenwriter on Rooster Cogburn (1975), the last film produced by Hal Wallis (to whom she was married from 1966 until his death in 1986). ALLAN LANE (1909-1973) starred in Republic oaters of the 1940s and 1950s, and was the voice of the TV horse Mister Ed, beginning in 1961. A regular western star, Lane appeared in over 125 films between 1929 and 1966. Notables include Stagecoach to Denver (1946), King of the Royal Mounted (1940), The Tiger Woman (1944) and Homesteaders of Paradise Valley (1947). Lightly bowed. Edges slightly toned. Corners creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
