Sepia, 5¼x8½. George Spence "G. S." Melvin was a Scottish pantomime dame and comedian. His song "I'm Happy When I'm Hiking" became a hikers' anthem in the 1930s. He drowned in the River Thames while performing at the Drury Lane Theatre. Corners creased and slightly worn. Adhesive residue at edges. Pencil note (unknown hand) at lower margin.
