Gabe Kapler (b. 1975) began his career in major league baseball
playing outfield for the Detroit Tigers (1998-1999). He later played for
the Texas Rangers (2001-2002), the Colorado Rockies (2002, 2003)
and the Boston Red Sox. He appeared in all four games of the 2004
World Series, in which the Red Sox swept the St. Louis Cardinals. After a
brief foray in Japanese baseball, Kapler re-signed with the Red Sox in 2005, but
retired after the 2006 season. In 2007 he became manager of the Red Sox Class A
farm team, the Greenville Drive. Kapler has a Star of David tattooed on one leg
and the dates of the Holocaust and the post-holocaust motto "Never Again," in
Hebrew on the other. Fine condition.
