Typed letter signed: "Garry Brown", in black ink, 1 page
8½x11. February 14, 1974. On his official United States Congressional
letterhead to the Congressional Liaison Office, Department of Health, Education
and Welfare, Washington, D.C., regarding: "Letter from Dr. Charles C.
Warfield with respect to funding of the 1974-1975 ESSA Proposal for Western
Michigan University Para-School Learning Center", in full: "I
forward to you herewith a communication received by me regarding a constituent.
I would appreciate your careful review of its contents and the taking of
appropriate action or the furnishing to me of your comments so that I may
furnish an appropriate reply to my constituent. Thanks in advance for your
prompt consideration of this matter. With best regards.". Garry Eldridge
Brown (1923-1998) served as a United States Representative from the 3rd
Congressional District of Michigan from 1967 to 1979. A World War II
veteran, he was elected as a Republican in 1966, defeating incumbent Paul H.
Todd, Jr. Following his term he moved his law practice from Kalamazoo to
Washington D.C. where he worked until his death. Normal mailing folds. Edges and
corners slightly creased. Staple holes at left corner. Secretarial stamps.
