from Return to Paradise.

part: "Notice is hereby given by Aspen Pictures, Inc., a California
corporation as Assignor, whose chief place of business within the State of
California is c/o Eagle-Lion Studios...and by Gary Cooper as Assignee...that the
Assignor expects to assign, or has assigned, an account or accounts now existing
or hereafter arising, to the said Assignee, and that the general nature of the
business out of which such accounts arise is the production, distribution,
exhibition, exploitation and disposition of the motion picture photoplay now
entitled 'RETURN TO PARADISE' to be produced by Assignor." The
short-lived movie company, Aspen Pictures, was founded by ROBERT WISE and former
RKO colleague Mark Robson in 1951. Filmed in Samoa and based on James A.
Michener's book of the same title, Return to Paradise starred GARY
COOPER as an island drifter who falls in love with a lovely Polynesian girl.
Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for I Want to Live!
(1958), Wise won Academy Awards for Best Director for West Side Story
(1961) and The Sound of Music (1965). Cooper was nominated for
Academy Awards for Best Actor for Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936),
The Pride of the Yankees (1942) and For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943)
and won Academy Awards for Best Actor for Sergeant York (1941) and
High Noon (1952). Lightly creased. File holes in upper blank margin,
which also bears pencil notation (unknown hand). Lightly soiled in upper left
blank corner. Fine condition.
