In letter form to The American Broadcasting Company, New York City and Worldwide Productions, Cleveland, Ohio. Player agrees to terms and conditions for his being a contestant on Challenge Golf, to be broadcast over ABC. In part: "I am fully familiar with the fact that it is unlawful for any person, with intent to deceive the listening or viewing public, to participate in the production for broadcast of, or in the broadcasting of any program involving a contest of intellectual knowledge, intellectual skill, or chance, knowing or having reasonable ground for believing that the outcome of such contest will be or has been in whole or in part prearranged or predetermined. Accordingly, I, GARY PLAYER, hereby certify that, in connection with my selection and performance as a contestant on (program) CHALLENGE GOLF scheduled for broadcast over the facilities of the American Broadcasting Company Television Network (Station [blank]) on (dates) TBA I have never (1) been given the questions and/or answers in advance of their use on the contest in such program...." Four other points are listed before the document concludes, in full: "Further, I have not accepted or agreed to accept any money, service or other valuable consideration for the inclusion of any matter as a part of such program, not will I mention or identify on such program any product, service, trademark or brand name." In addition to being seen on television in golf tournaments, Player has appeared on Golf Talk and ESPN Sports Century (six times), and he guest starred as himself on the Spanish TV series, Caiga quien caiga (Who Falls Falls), and Curb Your Enthusiasm, both in 2005. South African golfer Gary Player won 24 PGA tournaments (1958-1978), including seven majors. He won all four of the most prestigious events: the British Open (1959, 1968, 1971, 1974), the Masters (1961, 1978), the PGA (1962-1971) and the U.S. Open (1965). Lightly creased.
