Autograph letter signed: "Gary", in blue ink, 7¼x10½. Erie, Pennsylvania. In part: "Dear Charles, It's difficult to tell you how much I appreciate all of your kindness. Not only just recently, but since you first came to the Poconos last summer. The reasons for all your success are not at all puzzling to me". Gary Tomlin (b. 1950) has been active in the creation of daytime TV dramas since 1973, when he first joined the cast of Search for Tomorrow. After another stint on Another World, he became a writer, beginning with Days of Our Lives (1980); a director, commencing with Another World (1987); and a producer, starting with One Life to Live (2001). In April 2012, Tomlin resumed co-head writer duties at Days of Our Lives. Before turning his talents to the daytime dramas, Tomlin made a successful debut in the starring role of a touring production of Butterflies Are Free, with Vivian Vance cast as his mother. This role won Tomlin the Most Promising New Actor award from the Council of Stock Theatres in 1973. Charles Forsythe was a theatre director and producer. Light surface creases, esp. heavy on bottom right. Corners slightly worn and creased. Normal mailing folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
