Program signed: "Best Wishes/Gene Barry" on page 6, 8p, 6x9. Phoenix, Arizona, circa 1962 September 18-24.Program for The Perfect Setup at the Sombrero Playhouse. The play, written by Jack Sher and directed by Lamont Johnson, also starred Angie Dickinson and Jan Sterling. Barry has signed on his biography, printed beneath his photograph, b/w, 2x2½; a photograph, b/w, 2x2½, and biography of co-star Angie Dickinson is printed at the right. Actor Gene Barry (1919-2009) starred on radio, stage, film and television. He is best known for his portrayal of dapper, well-dressed leading characters in television series. His television work includes Our Miss Brooks, Bat Masterson, Burke's Law and The Name of the Game. In 1964, Burke's Law won a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Show and Barry won a Golden Globe for Best Television Star (Male). Always the epitome of diamond-in-the-rough masculinity, Barry astounded his fans in the mid-1980s by accepting the role of an aging homosexual in the stage musical version of the French film comedy La Cage Aux Follies.
