After winning Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor for Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and I Never Sang For My Father (1973), Hackman won the Best Actor Award for his role as narcotics agent Popeye Doyle in The French Connection (1971). A Best Supporting Actor Oscar winner for the Western Unforgiven (1993), Hackman earned critical acclaim in such films as Mississippi Burning (1989) and The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). Although it did not win any major film awards, Hoosiers (1986), in which he portrayed a high school basketball coach, is considered one of the best sports films of all time. In total, Hackman has won two Oscars (five nominations), four Golden Globes (nine nominations), and two BAFTAs (five nominations). Since his last screen role in 2004, Hackman has firmly retired from the industry, instead choosing to write and publish novels. Slightly soiled in lower margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
