GENE PITNEY. Photograph signed: "/Best/Always/Gene/Pitney". Color, 8x10. Gene Pitney (1941-2006) had a string of solo hits in the early 1960s and remained a popular concert performer thereafter. His best remembered songs, many of them convincing tales of heartbreak, include "Town Without Pity", "Only Love Can Break a Heart", "It Hurts to Be in Love", "Twenty-four Hours from Tulsa" and "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance." He also wrote hits for other artists, including the Crystal's "He's a Rebel" and Rick Nelson's "Hello Mary Lou." Fine condition.
