This pamphlet is printed in French; the inside contains the Equitable Old Timers roster and a box score that is not filled in. Second basemanGene William "Skip" Mauch (1925-2005) debuted in 1944 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, but went on to play for several other teams, including the Chicago Cubs (1948-1949) and Boston Red Sox (1956-1957). In 1953, Mauch was named player-manager of the Atlanta Crackers, a AA minor league team. This post eventually led to his success as a manager following his retirement from the field. At just 34 years old, Mauch became manager of the Philadelphia Phillies in 1960. While his career record from the bench was just under .500, he earned managerial positions with four different teams over the next 27 years. He spent nine seasons with the Phillies (1960-1968), seven with the Montreal Expos (1969-1975), five with the Minnesota Twins (1976-1980), and five with the California Angels (1981-1982, 1985-1987). As manager, Mauch was never able to lead a team to the World Series and was an advocate of small ball. Fine condition.
