GENE WILDER
Black and white movie still shown in his role for Stir Crazy
Printed Photograph inscribed and signed: "to Clay/from/Gene/Wilder". B/w, 10x8. Movie still from the film Stir Crazy, ©1980 Columbia Pictures.During the 1970s, Gene Wilder (1933-2016) starred in some of the decade's most popular comedies. He's known for his many collaborations with Richard Pryor and Mel Brooks. Such films as The Producers (1967), Young Frankenstein (1974), and Blazing Saddles (1974) have become modern American classics. In 1971, Wilder starred in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, a film that did not do well in theaters at the time but has grown into one of his most popular movies. He successfully paired with Richard Pryor in the smash hits Silver Streak (1976) and Stir Crazy (1980), although other collaborations of the two men were not as successful. Wilder was married to comedienne Gilda Radner from 1984 until her death in 1989. Following his starring role in the 1994 sitcom Something Wilder, the actor has been credited in only a handful of roles, choosing to write and publish books instead. His third novel, titled Something to Remember You By: A Perilous Romance, was published in 2013. Slightly creased at corners. Fine condition.
