(1933-2016) starred in some of the decade's most popular comedies. He's
known for his many collaborations with Richard Pryor and Mel Brooks. Such
films as The Producers (1967), Young Frankenstein (1974), and Blazing
Saddles (1974) have become modern American classics. In 1971, Wilder
starred in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, a film that did not do well in
theaters at the time but has grown into one of his most popular movies.He
successfully paired with Richard Pryor in the smash hits Silver Streak (1976) and
Stir Crazy (1980), although other collaborations of the two men were not as
successful.Wilder was married to comedienne Gilda Radner from 1984 until her
death in 1989. Following his starring role in the 1994 sitcom Something
Wilder, the actor has been credited in only a handful of roles, choosing to
write and publish books instead. His third novel, titled Something to
Remember You By: A Perilous Romance, was published in 2013. Slightly creased at
