In part: "'...a defanged Saddam has been forced to retreat behind his own borders. His nuclear, biological, and chemical military capabilities have been destroyed and will stay that way if we can figure out how to prevent him from getting them in the future the same way he got them in the past - from unscrupulous firms, both western and eastern...Saddam's military forces suffered a crushing defeat and are no longer a threat to any nation...Saddam's irrational, militant voice is no longer relevant in Arab politics...." General Schwarzkopf served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War, where he was twice wounded and decorated with three Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars and the Distinguished Service Medal. He led the U.S. and its allies in Operation Desert Storm, January 17-February 27, 1991, defeating Iraq in the Persian Gulf War and liberating Kuwait, from Iraq. His book, It Doesn't Take a Hero, was published in 1992. Slightly creased. Fine condition, with large, bold signature.
