Vietnam War-time First Day Cover honoring the 25th anniversary of U.S.
Savings Bonds, 5-cent "We Appreciate Our Servicemen" stamp affixed,
postmarked Sioux City, Iowa, October 26, 1966, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. In
April 1951, Lieutenant General James A. Van Fleet succeeded General Ridgway
as Commander of the Eighth Army in Korea after Ridgway succeeded MacArthur
as Allied Commander of the U.N. forces in the Far East. Van Fleet, promoted to
General in July 1951, served until February 1953. Fine condition.
