In October 1944, General McNarney became Commander of U.S. Army forces in North Africa and, in November, became Deputy Supreme Allied Commander in the Mediterranean Theater and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Forces, Mediterranean Theater. Promoted to full General in March 1945, McNarney became acting Supreme Commander of all Allied forces in the Mediterranean until November when he succeeded Patton as Commander of U.S. forces in Europe. Lightly worn. Light foxing. ¾-inch tear at top edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
