MAXWELL TAYLOR. Signature: "Maxwell D. Taylor", 3¼x2 lined sheet. Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower's Order of the Day, June 6, 1944. In WWII, General Maxwell D. Taylor accompanied the 82nd Airborne Division to North Africa, landing in Sicily. Hecommanded the 101st Airborne Divisionthat dropped into Normandy behind Utah Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. After the war, he served as Chief of Staff of the Army (1955-1959), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1962-1964) and U.S. Ambassador to South Vietnam (1964-1965). Irregularly cut. Lightly creased. Pinhead sized spot in upper left. Otherwise, fine condition.
