In World War II, General Maxwell D. Taylor commanded the 101st Airborne Division that dropped into Normandy behind Utah Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. After the war, he served as Chief of Staff of the Army (1955-1959), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1962-1964) and U.S. Ambassador to South Vietnam (1964-1965). Paperclip impression at top center. Fine condition.
