GENERAL OF THE ARMY OMAR N. BRADLEY. Appointed on September 20, 1950. TLS: "Omar N. Bradley", 1p, 8x10½. Washington, 1956 March 2. To Eddie Sousa, Livermore, California. In part: "I shall be happy to have my photograph [not present] included in your extensive and imposing collection and hope that you will achieve your aim to reach the 2,000 mark. Such a large collection represents a great deal of work but you undoubtedly have a collection of which you can be proud. I was glad to note that your illness had been arrested and that you are well enough to work again. I would judge that your long illness is not without some advantage in your present employment since those who have personally experienced illness have a special understanding of the sick...." Bradley commanded the First Army, which landed at Utah and Omaha beaches in Normandy on D-Day. In charge of the Twelfth Army Group, he led the largest force in the history of the world ever commanded by a field commander. Lightly creased at upper and lower blank margins. Fine condition.
