General WHITE (1902-1965) was named the fourth U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff in July 1957, serving until his retirement in 1961. During WWII, White, as Deputy Commander of the 13th Air Force, participated in the New Guinea, southern Philippines and Borneo campaigns, before taking command of the Seventh Air Force in June 1945. He was named Commander of the Fifth Air Force in Japan in 1947. Lightly soiled in blank lower margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
