Autograph letter signed: "Geoffrey Boumphrey" in blue ink. 8x5
sheet. October 20, 1956. Partial watermark on stationery (illegible). On The Old
Mill-Blewbury-Berks letterhead to "Dear Albert", in full:
"Thank you for your letter. I am awfully sorry, but I haven't got any
photographs of myself. I hope this autograph will do instead. Yours
sincerely". Geoffrey Boumphrey (1894-1969) was a British author,
prominent during the 1930s -1960s and known for his works of nonfiction. He
wrote many field guides about areas of Great Britain, as well as co-writing a
series of children's stories inspired by the bible with author Kenneth Walker.
Toned. Normal mailing folds. Rounded corners. Some small stains on front.
Mounting residue on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
