Printed Card signed in ink: "George Archie/Washington - St. Louis 1941", 5x3 card with printed baseball symbols. George Archie (1914-2001), who played first and third base, played most of his Major League ball for the Washington Senators in 1941, traded to the St Louis Browns late in the season. He also appeared in 3 games with Detroit in 1938 and 4 with the Browns in 1946. He spent World War II in the army, seeing frontline duty in the European Theater. Although he lost his best playing years to the war, he spent 12 successful seasons in the minors, hitting .305 overall through 1950. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise fine condition.
