The Golf pro writes a comical quote, questioning what happens to golfers in retirement.
Typed Quotation signed: "Geo Archer", 6x4 card. In full: "'Baseball players quit playing, and they take up golf. Basketball players quit, take up golf. Football players quit, take up golf. What are we supposed to take up when we quit?'" Typed source: "George Archer, Senior Tour golfer, on the prospect of retiring. Sports Illustrated September 17, 1990". Archer made this quote the year after he had joined the Senior (now Champions) Tour. George Archer (1939-2005), who joined the PGA Tour in 1964, won 12 tour events, including the 1969 Masters. He had previously won the 1963 Trans-Mississippi Amateur event and the 1963 Northern California Open. After 1989, when Archer joined the Champions Tour, he notched an additional 19 wins. Light crease at lower left blank corner, minor crease (not evident head on) at upper blank margin. Fine condition.
