GEORGE BURNS
George Burns sends a typed letter to a fan.
Typed Letter Signed: "George Burns", 1p, 7¼x10½. No place, 1983 April 29. On his personal imprinted letterhead. To Mr. Paul J. Friscat, North Canton, Ohio. In full: "Thanks for your letter, kid. You asked what 'saying' has meant a lot to me. That's easy. Take one day at a time. Simple. But the best philosophy one can live by, seriously. By the way, my driver, Eric Butler, used to live in North Canton. His Grandmother, Nellie Graham, lives on Los Angeles Boulevard in some trailer park there. His Uncle has the Donald Quinn Plumbing there, too. Eric went to Portage school. Hope this helps you, Pau. Hello to North Canton from me and Eric! Sincerely, ". George Burns, the star of vaudeville, radio, television and motion pictures, died in 1996 at the age of 100. He co-starred with his wife Gracie Allen until her retirement in 1958(she died in 1964), then continued performing in television, theater and nightclubs as a solo act.
