GEORGE C. SCOTT - AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIBED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 281370
Price: $240.00
GEORGE C. SCOTT
Inscribed photo, shown at sea - windblown, holding a cigarette
Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Tricia/George C. Scott". B/w, 10x8. Scott (1927-1999)
was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 1959 (Anatomy of a
Murder) and 1961 (The Hustler). In 1971, he was nominated for Best Actor in The
Hospital. He won the 1970 Academy Award for Best Actor for the title role in Patton. In
1971, he made international headlines by refusing to accept his Best Actor Academy
Award for that performance, deriding the Oscar ceremony as a "meat parade." Two years
later, he turned down an Emmy for his work in the TV adaptation of Arthur Miller's The
Price. Curiously, he had no qualms about accepting such honors at the Golden Globe or
Canada's Genie Award for the 1980 film The Changeling. Tape residue at corners (previous
mounting). Corners and margins lightly creased. Top right corner missing. Multiple pin-size
indentations at right center 1x¼ area. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
