GEORGE C. SCOTT. Photograph signed: "Geo C Scott". B/w, 10x8. Still from the 1980 film, The Formula. ©1980, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Captioned at lower margin: "GEORGE C. SCOTT portrays a Los Angeles police detective whose investigation in Germany is assisted by the Berlin police chief (JOHN VAN DREELEN) in 'The Formula' from MGM. John G. Avildsen directed the mystery-thriller from the screenplay by producer Steve Shagan. A United Artists release." The Formula, which starred Scott as Barney Caine, co-starred Marlon Brando and John Gielgud. GEORGE C. SCOTT (1927-1999) was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 1959 (Anatomy of a Murder) and 1961 (The Hustler). In 1971, he was nominated for Best Actor in The Hospital. He won the 1970 Academy Award for Best Actor for the title role in Patton. In 1971, he made international headlines by refusing to accept his Best Actor Academy Award for that performance, deriding the Oscar ceremony as a "meat parade." Two years later, he turned down an Emmy for his work in the TV adaptation of Arthur Miller's The Price. Curiously, he had no qualms about accepting such honors at the Golden Globe or Canada's Genie Award for the 1980 film The Changeling. 3 file nicks at lower blank edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
