GEORGE C. SCOTT
Color still of the Oscar winner, who refused to accept the award,
shown in a scene from the 1981 film Taps
Photograph Signed: "Geo C Scott". Color, 10x8. Captioned at
lower margin. George C. Scott (1927-1999) was nominated for Academy
Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 1959 (Anatomy of a Murder) and
1961 (The Hustler). In 1971, he was nominated for Best Actor in
The Hospital. He won the 1970 Academy Award for Best Actor for the
title role in Patton. In 1971, he made international headlines by
refusing to accept his Best Actor Academy Award for that performance,
deriding the Oscar ceremony as a "meat parade." Two years later, he
turned down an Emmy for his work in the TV adaptation of Arthur Miller's The
Price. Curiously, he had no qualms about accepting such honors at the
Golden Globe or Canada's Genie Award for the 1980 film The Changeling.
Corners lightly creased. Lightly soiled at bottom left corner. Adhesive sticker
on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
