GEORGE CUKOR.Comprises: (1) TLS: "Kind regards/George Cukor", 1p, 7¼x10½. Los Angeles, 1980 May 30. To Mr. (Steve) Juscik. In full: "I'm afraid I ruined the earlier photograph that you sent me - the photograph of the plump George Cukor, circa 1936. I didn't do it deliberately - but how about this substitute? - of a much later date, a few more wrinkles in the face - but I like it. Will this do?" Light crease at blank right margin. Fine condition. (2) Photograph inscribed and signed: "Steve Juscik/Every good wish/George Cukor/California 1980". B/w, 10x8 overall, image 9½x6½ (one surface). Light surface crease (not evident head on). Fine condition. George Cukor (1899-1983) was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Director in 1932-1933 (Little Women), 1940 (The Philadelphia Story), 1947 (A Double Life) and 1950 (Born Yesterday). He won in 1964 for directing My Fair Lady. Two items.
