GEORGE CUKOR
The Oscar-winning Director signs his name twice on this questionnaire from 1982
Document signed twice: "George Cukor" (once in cursive and once hand printed), 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1982 February 4. Questionaire filled out by Cukor in preparation for an interview on KABC Talkradio (Los Angeles). He has supplied an office address and phone number, a local contact and a subject to be discussed: "films". A KABC screener has typed an 11-line biography of Cukor on the lower half of the page, continuing with two more lines on verso. George D. Cukor (1899-1983) moved from stage directing to Hollywood in the early 1930s. One of the greatest film directors, he was especially gifted at getting the most from actresses. He earned a Best Director Oscar for My Fair Lady (1964) and was nominated for four others: Little Women (1932-33), Philadelphia Story (1940), A Double Life (1947) and Born Yesterday (1950). Among his other highly praised efforts were Dinner At Eight (1933), David Copperfield (1935), Gaslight (1944) and Love Among the Ruins (TV, 1975). Binder holes on left side. Text from an adjacent page has been impressed on this one, touching signature, which remains fully legible. Otherwise, fine condition.
