Typed Letter signed: "George Harmon Coxe", 1 page, 4½x7. No place, 1974 April 29. On personal letterhead to "Dear Mr. Stanhope", in full: "We spend nearly half the year down here in South Carolina and I won't know if I have a photo until I get back to Connecticut. If I can dig up a suitable one I'll send it along. If you don't get it in six weeks or so you'll know I don't have one. Sincerely". George Harmon Coxe (1901-1984) wrote 63 crime novels through 1975, and many more stories in crime and adventure magazines. His most popular character was Jack "Flashgun" Casey, featured in a 1938 movie and a popular 1940s radio series. Coxe was named a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America in 1964.
