3½x5½ postcard from Flatts Village, Bermuda. Address to Mr. James Starr of Los
Angeles, California. In full: "And not an onion in sight - but Howard
Hughes just arrived in his yacht with a party of twelve. So rough was their trip
from Nassau they didn't know they'd arrived! They are enroute to Calif. Arriving
end of April. This is a swell place, no automobiles allowed. Only carriages
& bicycles. Love no kisses". George K. Arthur (1899-1985) was an
English actor and producer who appeared in fifty-nine films between 1919 and
1935 such as Spring Fever (1919), Lady of the Night
(1925), Circus Rookies (1928), and Brotherly Love
(1928). Arthur achieved success in the late 1920s when partnered with Karl
Dane as part of a comedic duo named "Dane & Arthur". He received an Academy
Award in 1956 for his work producing the short film The Bespoke
Overcoat. Toned. Soiled. Stains throughout. Corners rounded. Otherwise,
