Violinist George Liberace signed this contract in 1958 for a two-week appearance at the New Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans. He was to be paid $2,250 per week for this engagement. George Liberace was the brother and sometime manager of pianist Liberace.
Contract signed by "George Liberace" as Artist and by an agent for the New Hotel Monteleone, both in blue ink. Blue ink notations in unknown hand. 1 page, 8¼x10¾. Sept. 8, 1958. American Guild of Variety Artists Standard Form of Artists Engagement Contract between George Liberace and the New Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans. Liberace signed this contract to appear for two weeks at the New Hotel Monteleone, beginning on Jan. 13, 1959. He was to perform twice daily, six days a week, for a weekly salary of $2,250. George Liberace (1911-1983) was a talented violinist who often arranged orchestras for and accompanied his more famous brother, known to the public as the pianist Liberace. George founded a small music publishing company and served intermittently as Liberace's manager. Lightly toned and creased. Signatures touch. Staple holes in top left corner. Lightly soiled on verso (no show-through). Folded twice and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
