George Lloyd Spencer (1893-1981) was a Democratic U.S. Senator from
Arkansas from 1941-1943. A veteran of WWI, he did not seek re-election,
opting instead to serve in WWII. In 1921, Spencer had moved to Hope,
Arkansas, where he established himself in banking and farming. In addition
to serving as President and Chairman of the Board of the First National
Bank, Spencer was also the Director of the Arkansas-Louisiana Gas
Company, a Commissioner of the Southwest Arkansas Water District and
the Arkansas Executive Vice President on the Red River Valley
Association. Slightly creased. Fine condition.
