GEORGE MAHARIS
Black and white publicity photograph of George Maharis in a leather jacket and striped shirt, signed to a fan.
Inscribed photograph signed: "To Tom/Sincerely/George Maharis". B/w, 8x10. Stage, screen and television actor George Maharis is best known for his role as Buzz Murdock (1960-1963) on the TV series, Route 66. Near the end of the third season, Maharis left the show over a contract dispute and was replaced by Glenn Corbett, who could not match the chemistry Maharis had with co-star Martin Milner; the show lasted only one more season. Maharis, who began his show business career as a singer, had made his TV debut in 1953 on The Philco Television Playhouse, and he would go on to roles in Search For Tomorrow (1960-1961), The Most Deadly Game (1970-1971) and the miniseries, Rich Man, Poor Man (1976). He made a number of made-for-TV movies and guest starred on a long list of series, including several appearances on Fantasy Island and his last TV spot on Murder, She Wrote (1990). Maharis was also in several feature films, including Exodus (1960), The Sword and the Sorcerer (1982) and Doppelganger (1993, his last film). Adequate contrast of signature.). Fine condition.
