Signature: "George/ McPhee" in blue felt tip. 3x5. George
McPhee (b. 1958) is a retired NHL forward and the Washington Capitals
general manager. His NHL career began when he was brought up to the New York
Rangers (1982-1987) during the 1983 playoffs, becoming one of two players
to ever score three goals in a single postseason, prior to playing a regular
season game. Later he played two seasons with the New Jersey Devils
(1987-1989); he finished his NHL career with 115 games played, 24 goals and
25 assists. In 1992, McPhee became the vice president and director of hockey
operations for the Vancouver Canucks, helping to lead the team to four
playoffs, a division championship, and a Stanley Cup Final in 1994 (which
they lost). McPhee joined the Capitals in 1997 leading them to the Stanley
Cup Finals in his first season, a prophetic indication of how well the Capitals
have performed since coming into his management, winning another 7
division championships. McPhee is also known for his post-game assault on
Chicago Blackhawks coach Lorne Molleken in 1999. Corners rounded. Light toning.
