British jazz musician who is best known for his decades-long association with the jazz
group the Feetwarmers. He played with them from 1970 until 2003. Before his tenure
with the band, he served in the Royal Navy and was a film critic for The Observer. His
satirical wit also earned him a job as a writer for the Flook, a publication associated with the
Daily Mail. He published numerous books and music albums over the course of his life.
