Autograph note signed "George Montgomery/82" in red ink. Signed in 1982. One page, 8½x11. Written on an advertising flyer for an exhibit of Montgomery's artwork by Great Western Savings. In full: "Hi David- Hope this helps for your request. Enclosed is a flyer for my new book [not included] - It turned out very well. Thanks for your note- Sincerely".George Montgomery (1916-2000), born George Montgomery Letz, wasanaction hero of war and western filmsof the 1940s and 1950s. He also directed several films in the 1960s.A former heavyweight boxer and stunt man before becoming a leading man, Montgomery was married for nineteen years (1943-1962) to singer/TV personality Dinah Shore,appearing often on her show after their amicable divorce. He's best known for his starring role in Battle of the Bulge (1965) and Cimarron City (1958). After retiring from acting, he concentrated on his various other interests, including sculpting and woodwork. In 1981, he published an autobiography titled The Years of George Montgomery. Lightly creased. Signature and note have low contrast against printing but are legible. Two horizontal and three vertical folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
