George Montgomery sends a typed letter of thanks for the book Shirley Temple: American Princess.

In full: "Thank you so much for a copy of Shirley Temple: American Princess, which I must admit I have't (sic) had time to read since I'm in the midst of moving (my lifetime of memorabilia, collection of art, misc. hobbies that constitute many storerooms of collectibles).To make a long story short, I have sold my property where I had my furniture manufacturing hobby and my home which was packed with the above. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness, and the minute I take off on a world cruise (slow boat) I shall learn all about the 'Princess.' Sincerely," George Montgomery (1916-2000), an action hero of mostly war and Western films of the 1940s and 1950s, also directed several films in the 1960s. A former heavyweight boxer and stunt man before becoming a leading man, Montgomery was married for nineteen years to singer/TV personality Dinah Shore, appearing often on her show after their amicable divorce. His Oscar nomination for Best Art Direction (Ladies in Retirement, 1941) foreshadowed his second successful career as a furniture designer. Montgomery, who also designed and built 11 homes, was also a self-taught, talented artist. Fold creases through "G" of George. Lightly creased at corners. Fine condition.
