Both pen their signatures on this album leaf in blue ink
Signatures: "George Murphy" and, on verso, "Elizabeth Dickinson", 6x4¼ album leaf. Magazine

Dickson has dated her signature: "May 14th, 1951". Ink note (unknown hand) at upper
margin: "Dorothy Arzner Lucey's/(Woman Director)". Dancer/actor George Murphy
(1902-1992) appeared in film musicals of the 1930s, moving to dramatic roles in the late
1940s. He followed a path similar to that of his friend Ronald Reagan: switching party
allegiance from Democratic to Republican, serving as President of the Screen Actors Guild and
winning election to the U.S. Senate from California in 1964. Murphy served as a U.S.
Senator from 1965-1971. Dickinson produced the youth baseball movie Roogie's Bump
(1954). Slightly soiled. Lightly creased at upper right corner. Light show through of
Murphy's photograph on verso. Perforated blank left edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
