"Dear Ron". In full: "I'm very honored by your request. There was one name I couldn't make out.
My apologies. I've sent a copy of a book of mine I think you'll enjoy - Shadow Box. Good luck to all
of you". George Plimpton, (1927-2003), believed in participatory journalism. Seeking to
improve his understanding of the subjects he reported on, Plimpton boxed heavyweight
champion Archie Moore, played quarterback (briefly) for the Detroit Lions, pitched to
major league hitters, entered golf tournaments, and even played percussion instruments
with the New York Philharmonic. Plimpton also helped create The Paris Review (1953), and
remained its editor-in-chief until his death. Slightly creased. Paper clip impression at upper
